RAISING IN 1999
Fighters predicted to raise in 1999
Everybody knows these three musketeers are the kings of heavyweight. Holyfield with his WBA/IBF crowns will fight Lewis, the king of IBF to find who’s better between them next March. Tyson, the king without the crown, is crawling the ring to get his missing crowns. After his success to defeat Frans Botha, January, Tyson is projected to fight some more opponents to adjust his fighting touches before he fights the winner of Holyfield-Lewis.
Michael Moorer, Henry Akinwande, Hashim Rahman, David Tua, Chris Byrd, Andrew Golota, Michael Grant, Herbie Hide or Kirk Johnson in the second layer will be the names who have opportunity to be a new king, or at least to compete them in the heavyweight jungle. The old cracks Foreman and Holmes who will fight next February seemingly will not have good opportunity to participate in the competition.
de la Hoya-Quartey-Trinidad
de la Hoya vs Quartey will be performed in Las Vegas, February 13. This will be de la Hoya’s step to prove that he’s capable to be the undisputed Welter King. Felix Trinidad (IBF) has been waiting to fight the winner of the fight.
Besides them, Frankie Randall and Oba Carr who will fight each other in de la Hoya’s undecard are the names who will challenge the undisputed three welterweight kings.
They are the 1996 Atlanta Olympic Games alumni. They are young and have good talent to be kings in their divisions. David Reid, gold medalist, Mayweather, featherweight bronze medalist, and Vargas, no medal, are ready to compete in world pro jungle.
Vargas is currently IBF Jr. Middleweight champion, and Mayweather is WBC Super Featherweight Champion, while David Reid is a little bit too late in his pro career as he had to have the eye surgery.
The sensational WBO Featherweight Champion, Prince Naseem Hamed is trying hard to have big supports in the US. His debut in Las Vegas was successfully done by defeating Wayne McCullough. His competitor, Louisitto Espinosa, also performed very well last year.
Shane Mosley (IBF Lightweight), Cesar Bazan (WBC Lightweight), Erik Morales (WBC Super Bantamweight) and Roy Jones Jr. (WBA/WBC Light Heavyweight) have good opportunity to raise in this year, besides some other names.
