Invicible Hands are Haunting Boxing

Bad Decisions Lately

Starting from the worst decision of the heavyweight unification match Evander Holyfield vs Lenox Lewis, bad decisions seem to haunting athletes, coaches and fans of boxing.

The victory of Felix Trinidad against Oscar de la Hoya is also a long controversy until today. And again, the name of Don King is mentioned as the invisible hands in this decision.

The last bad decision is Tyson vs Norris. It's not correct to be mentioned as a bad decision, but the "No Contest" decision is not a good decision, at least for Mike Tyson who is still in his hard way to regain his crown, good name and fame. Mike Tyson is a victim of the unprofessional behavior of the decision makers surrounding the ring at the fight night.

The referee, Richard Steele seemed to be doubt to take the decision, as he has punished Tyson by decreasing 2 points for beating after the bell. He should have seen Norris walking around the ring after the knock down, and he looked fit - no leg twist as he claimed. The doctor had also confirmed that he was OK and ready to fight again. So there was no other reason of Norris to quit unless he hoped the referee disqualified Tyson. In this view, Tyson should win by disqualification.

If these bad decisions come and come again, boxing will be left behind by the fight fans.
